Simone Biles Reveals Health Scare, Says She ‘Almost Died’
Olympic gymnastics legend Simone Biles has revealed that she recently experienced a serious health scare that she described as one of the most frightening moments of her life.
In a series of Instagram Stories shared on Saturday, Biles said she had gone through an unexpected medical emergency earlier in the week. While she did not provide specific details about what happened, she said the experience nearly cost her life.
“I’m not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today’s age,” Biles wrote. “But almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card earlier this week.”
The 29-year-old gymnast thanked friends and family members who supported her during the difficult time. She shared photos of hospital wristbands, flower bouquets, and messages of encouragement she received while recovering.
“This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life,” Biles added, noting that she had spent much of the week resting in bed.
Biles also mentioned that her husband, NFL player Jonathan Owens of the Indianapolis Colts, was away attending team practice sessions during the ordeal.
Although she has not yet explained what caused the health emergency, Biles told followers that she plans to share more information in the future.
In another Instagram Story, she posted a photo of her two dogs resting on a bed along with an image from a heart-rate monitoring device, suggesting she is continuing her recovery.
Biles remains one of the most successful gymnasts in history, with 41 Olympic and World Championship medals. Fans across social media have expressed concern and support following her announcement.
For now, the exact nature of the health scare remains unknown, but Biles indicated that she is recovering and appreciates the support she has received from loved ones and fans.
